No-one ever leaves the lilypad.
The country grammar, childhood dream, seventies memories, series of paintings...
These paintings and drawings were started from the phrase: 'there is a dragon in my dream' from my youngest son. I wanted to soften the 'blow' for him and show him that the world is not such a scarey place. Incorporating childlike drawings cribbed from his and his brothers school exercise books these drawings are almost hidden within the paintings.
I was keen for them not to end up like urban graffiti so have used themes, colours and icons from the 'safe haven' of our garden and the surrounding French countryside - a type of 'country grammar'.
